A spread is the price gap between two marketplaces for the same product and size. Every marketplace charges fees, so the raw spread is never your actual profit.

How spreads work

On Discover, you see a sneaker with a $152 ask on eBay and a $230 bid on StockX. That’s a $78 raw spread. But both platforms charge fees — shipping on the buy side, seller commission, payment processing, and shipping on the sell side. SPRD’s After fees toggle adjusts all prices for platform fees automatically. Keep it on to see what you’d actually make.

The fee toggle

Available on both Discover and the orderbook. When toggled on:
  • Ask prices show what the buyer actually pays (including buyer fees)
  • Bid prices show what the seller actually receives (after seller fees)
  • Spreads reflect realistic profit
The fee toggle covers platform fees only. Shipping, authentication, and forwarding costs are separate. See Evaluating Deals for the full picture.
